TransAmerica Benefits
Dear Fairfax Workers Coalition Member,
Omnia Benefit Partners recently visited the Fairfax Workers Coalition to review benefits that are available to you through your membership. Here is some additional information and a reminder in case you were unable to attend or you needed more time to make a final decision. The products listed here are available through TransAmerica:
Universal Life Insurance that builds cash value which can be borrowed against once cash value accumulates and is eventually used to cover premiums after retirement. Death Benefit is guaranteed to pay out up to age 85 or longer if premiums are paid out-of-pocket after age 85.
With Long-Term Care – Death Benefit from the life insurance can be turned into cash to pay for long-term care needs in the event of terminal illness or certain chronic conditions:
- Facility confinement such as nursing home for up to 25 months at 4% of the face value (benefits can be extended for an additional 25 months if care is still needed)
- Home care such as hospice for up to 50 months at 2% of the face value (benefits can be extended for an additional 50 months if still needed)
Term Life Insurance is available in 10 year or 20 year term policies intended to help beneficiaries pay expenses such as a mortgage, car payment, living expenses of the beneficiary, and funeral expenses of the decedent in the event of death of the insured during their prime working years.
Some key differences are:
- Portability, which means that you can take these policies with you when you leave the union for any reason (including retirement) simply by arranging to continue to pay the premiums by debit or credit card. Your County employment benefits end when your employment ends.
