FWC Membership provides its primary value in our willingness to stand up for you. We provide representation that’s real and meaningful for grievances, workers’ compensation, and any work-related matters.
But FWC knows that union members want real benefits.
FWC offers voluntary disability insurance and coverage for injuries that is portable and provides great value. (the other union’s policies disappear if you quit their group.) Fairfax, unlike most jurisdictions, does not offer a county-supported short or long-term disability program.
But FWC offers more.
We pay for free discounts and benefits through the Abenity program. We will pay your membership costs.
FWC is partnering with public safety groups to work with United Diagnostic Services (UDS), and industry leader in diagnostic body scans that help early detection of cancer and disease. Recently Board Chairman Jeff McKay announced his support for a county-wide program; it’s already started for public safety. While public safety has many legal protections for occupational disease, general county workers do not. Check them out on udshealth.com.
FWC is developing a proposal to provide a free life insurance benefit as part of your membership. We will need some demographic data from everyone to make this happen at a good rate.
FWC is determined to provide County workers with a real choice in unions, one that is independent and focused on the needs of Fairfax workers. Member benefits are a big part of a real union culture.
